Tavern Live: Hanover’s Concert Series
TAVERN LIVE concerts presented by:
Hanover Tavern presents Jackass Flats. Fueled by original songwriting, award winning musicianship, and exhilarating bluegrass instrumentation, Jackass Flats combines creativity and tradition to produce a unique show featuring fresh arrangements of bluegrass and non-traditional tunes from genres as varied as rock, reggae, and jazz.
Based in Richmond, Virginia, with their toes firmly in the sands of Folly Beach, SC, JJ&Co have built their base of spirited fans through heavy touring, high harmonies, and impeccable bluegrass chops. With one foot in traditional roots music and the other on a reverb pedal, Stratocaster in hand, it’s no wonder that JJ&Co have attracted notable influences from Sam Bush to Band of Horses’ Ben Bridwell to collaborate with on stage and in the studio
Tickets are $10 and children 12 & under FREE! Doors open at 5:30 p.m. JJ and Company starts at 6:00 p.m. You are welcome to bring your own lawn chairs or blanket to sit on.
* December 7 – Patrick Henry High School Madrigal Singers
The Patrick Henry High School Madrigal Singers under the direction of Carol Ann Dickerson, present, “A Renaissance Holiday”, for Harmony in Hanover. Performing in Renaissance costumes of the 16th century, the thirty-six member Madrigal Singers, will perform highlights from repertoire dating from the late Renaissance period to the present. The concert offers a varied program of secular and sacred music. Highlights include many winter and holiday favorites.
Take a moment to celebrate both the quietness and unrestrained joy on of the holiday season with some early music. Following the concert, the Madrigal Singers will lead the audience in a carol-sing and tree lighting.
The festivities will begin in the Bradley Theater at 7:00 PM. Ticket for the event are $25.00. Includes reception before performance.
