In 2010, 10th-generation Virginian Matt Howell began metal detecting for items lost to time in his native county of Hanover. From the recovery of his first bullet from the Civil War, it was clear that there was so much more excitement to experience. Since then, he has traveled throughout the United States, sharing his love of history, documenting other treasure hunter stories and making a few of his own.
