DESCRIPTION:Donate Today! NNPD Field Trips Donation\nYour Support is Vital to Our 4th Grade Field Trips!\n“Hanover Tavern: History in the Heart of Virginia” is our Virginia Standards of Learning-based 4th grade field trip program addressing history during the Colonial Period\, the Revolutionary War\, and through the Civil War for school children in the central Virginia area.  Over the past 13 years\, more than 23\,300 students have benefitted from the Tavern’s 4th grade programs. \nOn 2024 National Nonprofit Day\, please donate so we can continue to bring this amazing opportunity to schools from across Central Virginia! \nDuring this engaging 3-hour visit\, students move through numerous learning stations located at the historic Courthouse and Tavern\, interacting with fascinating living history characters. The children meet George Washington\, Patrick Henry\, Patsy Henry\, Mr. Chisholm\, Martha Ann Fields\, the Civil War Soldier\, Margaret Wight\, and George Washington Fields as they tour through the historic Tavern\, see exhibits and artifacts\, and\, at the end\, have time for lunch and photos with the presenters. The students will always remember this exciting experience. \n \nFunding to provide field trips at Hanover Tavern is always a challenge.  We depend on grants as well as the support of corporate sponsorships\, fundraising events\, and donations from people like you!  Over the years\, funding has provided free or reduced admission for more than 50% of our students.  Providing financial support for under-funded schools helps disadvantaged students to meet state academic standards.   In many cases\, these schools would not be able to attend and thus not benefit from this educational program.  Much time and expense go into this unique offering\, and we need your support to ensure that we can continue to welcome students to the Tavern to learn Virginia history. \nNational Nonprofit Day is Your Special Day to Help!\nDonate Today! NNPD Field Trips Donation
