David Deal

Executive Director

David Deal has been the Executive Director since January 2010. He oversees the ongoing care of the 18^th Century Tavern building and the day-to-day maintenance and operation of the buildings.  David is responsible for the financial well-being of the Foundation and the Tavern’s restaurant and manages the relationship with the Tavern’s theater tenant.  He creates and delivers educational and family programming, exhibits, and fundraising events.

He has served on the Hanover County Architectural Review Board and the Hanover County Historical Commission, for numerous years as Chairman of both organizations. These civic services provided the opportunity to protect Hanover County’s historic resources, apply appropriate historic preservation techniques, and guide those on proper restoration and resources.

David has a degree in History from Miami University and a wonderful passion for American history as well as historic buildings and structures.  Best of all, he loves to share this passion with others.
