February 25, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 2:30 pm
In 1780, General George Washington ordered soldiers to Charleston as reinforcements. Those soldiers encamped around Hanover Tavern for several days while resting for the impending march.
Through a series of Interpretive stations, visitors will learn about camp life for soldiers and civilians in Colonial Virginia during the Revolutionary War, as well as experiencing drill and firing demonstrations by the Living History Detachment of the 6th Virginia Regiment.
